We’re thrilled to announce that our resident aca-solo act Peter Hollens will be bringing the world a new single or video every Thursday!
Today, Peter has teamed up with Grammy-winning a cappella sensations The Swingle Singers, to put out a joint rendition of “Poor Wayfaring Stranger,” an American folk song that serves as a delightful deviation from his onslaught of pop-inspired covers. And to add one more special touch, arranger extraodinaire Tom Anderson is featured on vocal percussion.
Hollens’ last single – a cover of Justin Bieber’s “Pray” – was a collaboration as well, one that involved fellow Sing-Off superstars Courtney Jensen and Therry Thomas. Hollens has also put out covers of “Born This Way” by Lady Gaga, “Firework” by Katy Perry and “What’s My Name/Only Girl” by Rihanna.
We know all about Hollens, an accomplished performer with a smooth, stunning voice who helped to found fellow ACR clients On The Rocks (and performed with them as a featured soloist on season 2 of The Sing-Off). His resume extends far beyond the realm of collegiate a cappella, and his talents go beyond performance and into production.
But some may not know The Swingle Singers – and those who don’t are missing out.
As we mentioned earlier, The Swingle Singers are Grammy winners – having won five, to be exact. But their excellence and professionalism extend far beyond garnering an internationally renowned award multiple times. They are superstars in the a cappella world, having performed in the United States, Asia, and almost every nation in Europe (yet still finding the time to release over 50 albums during their 40-plus-year existence). Their repertoire is diverse – ranging from classical to jazz, from world to pop. But it’s their flawless execution that sets them apart and makes The Swingle Singers who they are. Intricate harmonies, perfect blending, engaging performances and stellar individual voices that all come together to make for an unforgettable experience.
So when you mix these ingredients together, you wind up with a unique track that is nothing short of amazing. Make sure to download it today – you won’t be sorry.
