Stanford University’s own Counterpoint, the school’s resident all-female a cappella sensation, has released their latest album online for digital download!
“Dancing ‘Til Dawn” is an energetic, light-hearted 12-track offering that starts off with Lady Gaga’s debut smash hit “Just Dance” and keeps up the fun with Duffy’s “Mercy,” Owl City’s “Fireflies” and Corinne Bailey Rae’s “Put Your Records On” (in addition to other feel-good fare). If you want an album that will set your feet moving and make you smile, then “Dancing ‘Til Dawn” is a great addition to your a cappella library!
Counterpoint was founded when two women of Stanford wanted the fairer sex to have the same opportunities available to the men of the Medicants (Stanford’s all-male group). Ten albums (besides “Dancing ‘Til Dawn,” which is their eleventh release), numerous tours, and a significant list of alumnae later, Counterpoint is still going strong, especially in the recorded a cappella realm – their previous CDs have garnered multiple Contemporary A cappella Recording Award (CARA) nominations, including three for Best Female Collegiate A Cappella album. Tracks of theirs have also been featured on various editions of the highly-esteemed and wildly popular Best Of Collegiate A cappella (BOCA) compilation.
