“Good Morning, Mr. Jefferson” is the latest release from The Virginia Belles (an all-female group from the University of Virginia). And now, you can download it for yourself through iTunes!
The Belles have put together 12 incredibly infectious tracks, which include big hits like “King of Anything” (Sara Bareilles) and “Bulletproof” (La Roux), as well as lesser known works such as “Shark in the Water” (V V Brown) and “Love, Save the Empty” (Erin McCarly). It’s a refreshing mix of the familiar and the lesser-known, executed beautifully by a truly talented group of women.
The Belles were founded in the fall of 1977, and they have been performing on campus and abroad every chance they get, in prestigious venues such as the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center, and for honorable audience members like UVa President John Casteen III. They have also competed – and placed – in the International Championship of Collegiate A cappella. Recognized by the Contemporary A cappella Recording Awards, these ladies have used their talents for causes such as the Virginia Tech Memorial A Cappella CD (made to commemorate the victims of the now-infamous shootings).
