With “Do Not Disturb,” Outspoken proves themselves the masters of energy, mining the pop charts for repertoire that includes “Breaking the Habit” (Linkin Park) and a pop-tastic mash-up of the Spice Girls and Justin Timberlake. The bad boy of pop is also the man behind the album’s opener, “Lovestoned” – a true testament to their extremely contemporary approach to this, their newest release. For those who prefer the classics, you too will find satisfaction, with Sting’s “Fields of Gold” or Tom Cochrane’s “Life is a Highway.” “Do Not Disturb” is Outspoken’s third studio album. Recorded by Peter Hollens, edited by Ed Boyer, and mixed and mastered by Bill Hare, it is a must-have for a cappella die-hards!

They also show their softer side on “100 Years” (Five for Fighting), as well as their ability to loosen up on – yes, really – “Don’t Whiz on the Electric Fence” (The Ren and Stimpy Show).

Outspoken was founded in 2002 by two music majors who sought to mine the university’s talent and bring it together in one place. The result is an extremely gifted and versatile group that celebrates its mix of people, their backgrounds and interests as eclectic as the music they perform together. With three albums already released (and a fourth in the works, recorded also by ACR solo superstar Peter Hollens), these gentlemen have every right to be outspoken about what they do.
