Nov 11, 2011 – San Francisco, CA – A Cappella Records today announced that over 500,000 songs have been purchased and downloaded from their collection of contemporary a cappella music.
Launched in May of 2009 with the goal of bringing the entirely vocal genre to digital stores, the independent record label has created the easiest way for a cappella groups to license and distribute their music worldwide. A Cappella Records now represents over 2,000 tracks from some of the most talented a cappella artists in the US including On the Rocks, The Tufts Beelzebubs, Peter Hollens, The House Jacks, The Clef Hangers, Pitch Slapped and The Whiffenpoofs — as well as the most celebrated a cappella compilation albums BOCA and SING.
“This milestone is attributed to the quality of music that we get to work with everyday” says A Cappella Records Co-Founder and President, Chris Crawford. “Our artists are unbelievably talented and we’re honored to distribute their music all over the world”.
A Cappella Records is a San Francisco based independent record label that licenses and distributes entirely vocal music to over 400 digital retail stores worldwide including iTunes, Amazon MP3, Rhapsody, Rdio and Spotify.
