As recently announced, A Cappella Records has created an HD store, which will contain a hand-picked selection of ACR’s best albums, offered directly from us to the world in higher quality and at lower cost than on iTunes.
We are equally-happy to add that the University of Chicago’s Voices in Your Head hit album, “I Used to Live Alone“, will be available in high definition through our store!
Those who purchase the album through our HD store will get access to 24 uncompressed audio files – the entire 13 track album, plus 11 bonus “instrumental tracks” that offer the listener (or prospective singer!) an a cappella karaoke backing for the majority of the album’s tunes. Purchasers will also get bonus a cappella-specific metadata, a detailed break-down of each song’s role in the album’s concept, lyrics, a high-resolution album poster, artist photos, and more!
The track list is an emotional journey beginning to end, with tracks like “Resistance” by Muse and “Break Your Heart” by Taio Cruz, and it bears mentioning that the group’s fourth studio album is ALSO their first-ever concept album, with each track serving to represent different phases of a typical relationship. Several tracks garnered attention from the a cappella community. “I’d Like To” by Corinne Bailey Rae was selected for the 2010 edition Voices Only, as well as the 2011 edition of the Best of Collegiate A Cappella. “Boomerang,” an original penned by the group itself, found its way on to Sing 7: Lucky, and won the 2011 Contemporary A cappella Recording Award for Best Scholastic Original.
The group was founded in the fall of 1998 and, during it’s 13 years of existence, has established itself as a force to be reckoned with both in the studio and onstage through their many concerts at home or abroad with some of the biggest names in collegiate a cappella – not to mention as participants in the International Championship of Collegiate A cappella!
Make sure to check out “I Used To Be Alone” in our HD store today, to maximize the experience of a truly fantastic work of art from Voices in Your Head.
