For years, high school a cappella has been on the rise. Groups such as the Major Minors, hailing from Flint Hill High School in Oakton, Va. have done wonders for this subset of the genre by releasing quality recordings and putting on outstanding live performances for as long as they have existed.
Supporting such growing talent is, in this case, a pleasure as well as important to the continued success of a cappella groups of all ages. The Major Minors have just released its newest album, “If I Were A Major Minor,” and we are thrilled to release it for digital download on iTunes!
The five-song EP is a brief and incredibly easy listen all the way through – one you’ll want to repeat many times. The group shows its youthful energy on tracks such as “Just Haven’t Met You Yet” by Michael Buble and “Mr. Know It All” by Kelly Clarkson. It’s a modern offering packed with enjoyable performances, due in large part to the group’s innate musicality and sense of fun. The production, done by Emerald City Productions, is both professional and smooth while still allowing these future stars to shine on their own merits.
The co-ed ensemble has been making music since the fall of 2001, and has produced one album every year (in addition to touring). They have worked their way onto the 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 editions of the “Best of High School A Cappella” compilation. But in addition to the hard work required for such success, the group also teaches its membership about just how fun a cappella music can be, and the kind of life-long friendships it can forge.
Do this hard-working group of young musicians – and even moreso, yourself – a favor, and download “If I Were A Major Minor” today!
